Testosterone up!!!

I KNOW I'M LATE. ONLINE, punctuality was never my strongest suit, but here goes....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JLIAN!!!

I can't draw as amazingly as you do, I can't translate as well as you do... (will Elvish count, though? But even in that, I suck, so...) Hope you had a great day on the day you turned a year older and wiser.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok... hardly the next Origins film I had hoped for, but this sounds promising.
Forgive me, but as much as he had shown he could do so so so much more, I still get horrid (and hilarious) flashbacks of him in Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place.
This wolf ain't howlin'... )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Laugh all you want.... )

...gawd. There's a storm in my country right now. Literal storm. I hope it lets up on Saturday so I can go spelunking. I missed it two weekends ago. I'm not about to miss it this time!

Dramas...and all that drama...

Pimp first.

I'm totally stealing Haru's cap, and I feel absolutely no remorse.

Aki-san like, translated this EVEN BEFORE the raws were posted on LJ, even before any of us at the Team downloaded the raw.....and Haru wrestled with FIVE versions of the raws to find which would be the best one.

Oh, and an HQ version is coming out in a couple of days. Ain't life grand???????

DOWNLOAD HERE. Join first if you haven't already....and MF links at Aibakaland. (Goodness, even our uploader saragnayan is FAST!!)

*breathes*

So my throat kinda itches that every now and again I'd try to cough, or clear my throat, and this older guy colleague of mine - way across the room - imitates me. Every single time. I'm torn between irritation and amusement. I wanna pull at his hair 'cept for the fact that there isn't much of it left, and that's a battle I know I'm gonna lose. And painfully, too.

Last night was a lull. I got home and felt lazy. SHOCK. I settled down beside my nephew who had a marathon of Stomp the Yard, Jump In and Dirty Dancing. AND THEN Ponyo on a Cliff. It's a school night, but I'm a supportive one, so. And as for Dirty Dancing, he was already nodding off by the time the groin- and loin-fest begun. And...he was completely gone when Ponyo. See how supportive I am?

I heard Nobuta wo Produce will be aired in my country. Dubbed in Tagalog, of course.

Heaven help us.

This is indeed, the Year of the Cow. )

I'm a hardsubs addict, so I patiently await the hardsubs for Mei-chan and Voice before watching them. Perhaps, Love Shuffle, too? Then again, of course Moriah had to get on my case and insisted I watch Akai Ito with softsubs. She caught me at one of my weakest.

Uta no Oniisan 1 - I try not to put spoilers )

Akai Ito 4 )
*breathes again*

Damn. I was meaning to write about East of Eden, complete with caps, then I realized I was writing up an entire SUMMARY OF IT! WITH CAPS!!! And...and....I'm finished writing it up til Episode 5 and I thought to myself, 'this is stupid, why on earth am I doing this?'

I'm not sure that post is ever gonna see the light of day.

TO MUCHINGCHING.

GURL, YOU ARE CRAZY!!!
I got it. It's sooooooo pretty!!! (My mom wants it. I am sooo not a good daughter.)
And I only gave you a lameass card.
And the reason I didn't friend you was I recall you saying you don't update your LJ much....*sniff* So...yeah....Sorry.....Will rectify that now.
THANK YOUUUUUU~!

I'm not hurting myself.

I just browsed through it but boyohboy, Toma on Potato Feb09 made my nose bleed.

They call these updates. I call it bulletpoints. )And for kicks.

She looks like Sho...not. )

Happiness Day 1...albeit bittersweet

It's a Monday out here, I have the blasted colds, and my head's throbbing like crazy (again) but I have to make a post.

One. They don't call him Pambansang Kamao for nothing... )

Two. A Life Cut Short... )
.....

MA-AN!!!! HERE IT IS!!!!!

Japan TV really REALLY loves me!!!!!!!!!! )
I'll take this opportunity to make this my happy post for today. Happiness Day 1, THAT meme.

I'm happy that....
... Manny made us proud (and that his wife Jinkee did not go into labor from seeing her husband punch dela Hoya to a pulp. I exaggerated.)
... a lovely young man has gone home to his Maker after living a short, but sweet and hopefully full life.
... Japan TV loves me to pieces....
... I will see Ohno again in a drama!!!!!!!! YES!!!
... I got back my voice, after losing it for a day. (yeah. my usual bout of colds....)

25% of nothing

Technically, summer has been over in my country since...well...mid-May? When the rains and storms started coming in.

But in Japan. Summertime starts July! Which means Ohno season (oh you must be tired hearing this from me over and over and over......). Concert season (ahh...most of my STORMY teammates are meeting as we speak in the Land of the Rising Sun, and surely they're having a ball.....). New dramas season ( [profile] twistedhalo04is so psyched! lolz) which includes Ohno *sigh*, Toma, YamaPi...and now Tacchon. Now all we need is ONE DRAMA with ALL FOUR of them TOGETHER. I swear many would die swooning.

Meanwhile, to tide me over before MAOU starts....y'know, in between timing for a multitude of HanaKimi specials and dying between Hiro and Toma sightings...i resurrect pretty quick.

And! Speaking of Lee Jun-ki....I realized how out-of-the-loop I am when it comes to local Philippine TV.

And yet another.....Kim Sam-Soon ain't spared.....

The Day Before the 1st of May...

May 1 tomorrow. Labor Day. A non-working holiday (YAY! Even if we're asked to go on overtime, I still won't! I've grown horns!). Still have tons of video files waiting to be burned. Ah. Arkarna moment yet again.

Sharing Week 14 caps of Asian Treasures. If sources are correct, it'll only run for 20 weeks. That means 6 weeks more of capping. Unless the currency sign rears its ugly head and the Powers That Be decide to extend its run for several more weeks, risking another storytelling train-wreck. Aarrghh! Sometimes advertising sucks.

Last night, there was this feature on the telly about the city where I'm at, and it was quite refreshing to see your hometown seen through a stranger's eyes. I felt slightly giddy and proud. Anyway, the Final Four survivors of Season 4 of the reality-based star search STARSTRUCK were guests, given the task to go to the ukay-ukay (overruns/bargain) shops with only a minimal amount and shop for a certain get-up. It was quite enjoyable watching them haggle with the vendors. After the program was the Videoke Challenge where even MARKY CIELO, the Sole Survivor from Season 3 (for whom I have always had a soft spot for) was also a guest. Too bad he was the first to be given the boot. Oh well. CAPS!

Long Breaks....[And Oh-chan wrapped it up!]

Gawd, how I wish the title was true. LONG BREAK. What bliss if it were real. I guess I was referring more along the lines of 'long break from posting'. Oh, this is bad. I resolved to get back onto the writing scene again and already I am slacking!

But YAY! for my ever-increasing number of Arashian angels! Just saw a video of an interview with Oh-chan on Zoom-In and watched it with my mouth wide open since I don't understand what they were saying. The whole time, though, I was thinking to myself, "ain't he just soooooo....SO!" Then headed to

[personal profile] nyanchanand voila! A translation! Thank youuuu!!!!!

Watch the video at Fluffy0e0's Vox. Download links here.

I get nutty most times and decided to sub it and time it, dispensing with the fact that ONE: I don't speak Nihonggo. TWO: I've never done subbing or timing before (except hardsubbing the soft subs provided by the drama netizens for my personal video collection). I just asked for permission and once it has been granted, I will upload the two-part video which I have converted already into .avi format and subbed SIMPLY. No styling, though. I am a newbie, so there. Lolz.

I skipped a week, sorry. I said I was gonna do this every week, but I missed. My apologies. I was not able to catch the entire run of Asian Treasures for the past two weeks, only some days here and there, but I managed to take caps still. So, more Week 11 and 12 caps of AT after the cut!

Holy....!

I just realized something yesterday: I CURSE a lot lately. I mean, with respect to the F-word, I say it more frequently than I ever had. To my credit, though, I don't utter the word aloud for anyone else to hear. Basically it's just me thinking or talking to myself. Now it wasn't until college at Uni that I entered a Catholic School so I never had the (mis)fortune (take your pick) of having nuns for teachers breathing down my neck, and even when I got to Uni, the fact that Saint Louis U was a Catholic school was never really a huge part of the equation. It was more like a do-your-own-thing environment. However, Catholic school or not, in this day and age, in THIS part of my universe, cursing is still pretty much frowned on.

Finally I bought a new DVD writer. About damned time I went around to getting one. Thanks to the Holy Week ahead, I'll have about 5 days off work (I adamantly refuse to render overtime even if they tell me to. I mean, that would defeat the purpose of a "Holy" week, won't it?). Hopefully in those five days I would be able to burn all the downloaded videos I have at home. Free from space from my hard drive, discard some CD-Rs where I've saved the files, and sit back for some viewing pleasure. Ahh, just the thought makes my toes curl. I ought to continue on my Friday Night Lights marathon. I loved the film, am loving the series, even if it I am only on Episode 5. Kyle Chandler is a joy to watch in a role that is miles away from his Early Edition days. I wonder if I should scour for the book? Hmm....Perhaps after I have read all the piles of books on my desk awaiting attention then I'd go for it.

In closing, the rest of the Asian Treasures caps from Week 10, after the cut.

Till next!

When Life Sucks, It Sucks You Dry....

The wisdom I get to share for the month of March: "When life sucks, it sucks you dry." (How do I patent this saying? I made it up. I'm quite the spirit of optimism, aren't I?) Alright, enough of this sarcasm.

Work's still a killer, and if possible, it got even worse than when this year even started. But all I can do is complain, right? Well, I could certainly quit, but I do not want to just take the high road when I am not the one at fault, know what I mean? If I were to leave, I would make sure I've done what is expected of me, and I have no unfinished business hanging. April is coming. Tax month. Dear God, why oh why did I ever become an Accountant? I used to hate Math when I was in primary school. Why did I have to fall in love with numbers at a later stage and decide to make a career out of it?????!!?!?! A word of advice: numbers aren't always good. They could do quite a number on you (pun fully intended).

On to brighter things.

Last night I managed to watch Ao No Honoo (aka The Blue Light), a Japanese film released more than a couple of years back starring Ninomiya Kazunari. (Huge thanks to the uploaders over at Aibakaland; without them, I would not have been able to watch this beautiful film.)

In closing, sharing some caps I made of GMA7's Asian Treasures for Week 9 (Thursday & Friday) and Week 10 (Monday & Tuesday). I might just do this on a weekly basis, though. I don't have enough time as it is, so after this week, I'll post caps weekly.

MORE CAPS AFTER THE JUMP....

[Review] Search for the Asian Treasure

I am not the biggest fan of Philippine television. I am not sure if there is something wrong with my taste or with the medium as a whole. I find the whole lot pretentious and too scripted (except for a few - VERY FEW - exceptions), and I pin the blame on a society that is torn between old-school conservatism and burgeoning liberalism. Call it an identity crisis. Hanging on to Eastern sensibility while half-heartedly practicing Westernism. (Wow. Too many -isms there.)

Too often when I get home from a hard day's work, I try to catch the news just to get informed, and I get depressed. Really. Who isn't, these days? Then I pop in a video on my player (really, I'd be dead without it) and watch some DVDs, or scour my PC for downloaded videos. Ah, the wonders of the Internet.

There were only a handful of Filipino shows I followed almost religiously. ENCANTADIA, for one. It partly whetted my post-LOTR appetite. A lame take, if compared to the original, but it held its own and created its own niche. STARSTRUCK Season 3, a reality-based talent search, now THAT one I followed religiously you could almost call me "holy"

Nowadays, there is only ONE show I follow. It is called ASIAN TREASURES, initially touted (and leered at) as a cross between Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider. It stars the "almost-over-the-hill" '90s action star Robin Padilla and Angel Locsin, possibly one of the hottest, in-demand and prolific young actresses in the country today.

She is Gabriela Agoncillo, heiress in a family that has more secrets than it can keep. He is Elias Pinaglabanan, a down-and-out movie stuntman who always longs for that big break.

Tomorrow's a Sunday. No work. Hopefully. Thank goodness. I am so sitting in and working on my HYD2 finale icons. Heaven knows I am probably a week late already, but hey....BETTER LATE THAN FARKING NEVER, right?

And to end this, I know this is an old thing already, but I need a slogan to perk me right up! I typed in my nick (JHING) and the result?

We Bring The Good Jhing To Life.

wanna try yours? Here's the link.

Till next!!!
