July has lots of babies.... That means November is one hell of a busy month. XDD
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GINGER~!!!
Joyeux Anniversaire!
For a day, be a kid and go absolutely nutty-happy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was worrying before about getting what both my parents have. Hypertension and ulcer.
I've early traces of peptic ulcer, by the way. *laughs it off*
Anyway.
I was shaken awake this morning by my Mom, and we brought my dizzy Dad to the hospital. At the E.R., his blood pressure shoots up, his head and nape aches, his ulcer kicks in and he throws up blood.
After watching the hospital staff scramble to find my Dad a room in an otherwise almost-packed hospital (my Mom's an HR officer, and pretty much everyone on the hospital staff 'went' through her), I next watched my Dad get pierced with this and that tube, get three injections in thirty minutes...
Nurse with ECG: Could you take your belt off, sir?
Dad:..........
Nurse with ECG: ...Sir? The belt?
Dad: ... why do you want my belt off? *looks at MOTHER, standing there wordlessly*
Dad who loves food: May I eat rice?
Doc: Your esophagus has perforations due to your cough. You can't.
Dad who loves food: ... what about that apple?
Doc: Not even that.
Dad who loves food: Okay...
Doc: And we need to take a blood sample early tomorrow morning, so please don't eat anything until then.
Dad who loves food: WHY NOT!! *wails*
After throwing up (with some blood). I paint a pretty picture, don't I.
Dad: My stomach hurts....
Mom: It's the ulcer acting up.
Dad: My head...
Mom: That's what the hot pack is for, keep still.
Dad: This is bad... my vision is blurry.....
Mom: .....
Mom: That's because you don't have your glasses on.
Dad watches the IV drip.
Dad: I want to go home.
Mom: You just got here.
Dad: Ask them if I can take the IV home.
Mom: HOW OLD ARE YOU?
....Watching these two almost make me want to get married. Almost. What it does make me want to remain as, however... is their daughter.
Thanks for the tweets, guys. He's fine. A little hungry, and cranky... but he charms the nurses by turning their medical questions to absolute nonsense, and my mom's waaaay past caring about her reputation being marred by this crazy old guy who calls himself her husband. XDD
Date: 2009-07-12 03:29 pm (UTC)I'm really really grateful that you left this birthday message for me ! I'll try to follow your advice ^_^
Anyway, please take good care of yourself and of your parents (I'm sure you already do ^_^). They really seem to be a nice couple, I would love to share such a complicity with someone !
My own Dad looks a lot like yours, in his behavior. Last time he went to the hospital, he kept asking when he could leave...
On a happier note, I think that's totally positive that he was able to think about eating after having such a trauma... One of my friends got an ulcer at the age of 23, he's quite healthy now, but has to be careful about what he eats.
Anyhow, I hope the consequences for your Dad will be of lesser importance, since he was hospitalized quickly :)
I'm not on Twitter, but if it's ok with you, I hope you'll let us know here how he fares and when he can leave the hospital.
*big hug*
See you !
(^_^)/
And thanks so much for the message once again, especially during such a hard time !
Date: 2009-07-13 02:51 am (UTC)If you mean standing guard and slashing his foodlist into less than half, then yes I most definitely will. :) He truly does love food, and is good at the kitchen too, but needs some reining in.
He was actually scolded because he had been having mild flu and cough for a week. Only when he had the dizzy spells did he agree to be taken to the hospital.
*hugs back* Thanks for the thought~ And will try to be more... err... update-y here. It's a good thing a lot of you are July babies, then I've an excuse to actually post. XDDD
Hope you have an easier time lately, too..... Don't stress out too much.... GO FISH!
Date: 2009-07-14 02:52 pm (UTC)My birthday was so-so, but all the heart-warming messages I got on LJ and through my cell-phone made my day brighter. I was able to blow the candles on my b-day cake and tell the persons around that I was happy to be 32 : I think it's the first time in my life that I felt what I said with such accuracy :)
*points at her icon*
And look at the beautiful icon Tenjo-chan made for me ! Isn't she sweet ?! <3
I love people who love food and who likes cooking :) Your father, even far away as he is, feels quite close to me ^_^ I feel like I can understand him a bit. Recently, I also tried to do my best at cooking less - and lighter - , but it's not that easy to get rid of some bad habits (science tells you that fats stock the flavors and that's definitely true ;_;). I'm lucky to love fruits...
Ahhhh sorry, it turns out to be once again a long comment about myself ^^; <- big ego inside
Anyway, you know I love your long posts and having news from you, so I'm always happy to read you ! But I also know you've got plenty of activities, so update when you feel like it :)
Thanks a lot once again for your support ^_^
No kidding, I'm thinking more and more about trying to go fishing on the sea. Just got to find where and how xD
*hugs*
