Day 5 & 6 of 8...AGAIN!!!
Dec. 23rd, 2008 08:16 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
The rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day. (8 for Eito.) Tag 8 people to do the same. |
By request: The FISH plushie.

Turn it, and the other side looks like this:

I love how all the colors are represented....But I see mostly blue. Tee-hee.
Two, to be exact, I wish I had my camera with me at the time. And...I left my phone. So....yeah.
'Twas a Sunday, and I couldn't go to Church coz it seemed rude to go through the entire mass with my glasses and a cap on. After mass, I met up with my mom and grandma to go do some grocery shopping. And we bump into a long-time-no-see uncle, with his wife, and two foster-kids. (Foster kids, coz he's...unable to have kids. Period.) Kim and Errol. Lovely kids. I wanted to take them home. Errol, especially. For a three-year-old, he's such a flirt.
Went and bought a gift for the ladies'-night-in the next day. It was a group of six of us, colleagues, friends, buddies, and all girls. We drew lots as to who to give gifts to, and on a piece of paper, wrote a wish list of sorts, so the person who got it would know what to give. I bought a bag for the lovely I got, Ate Racquel. (For those who don't know, 'ate' means something like 'oneesan', used to refer to an older girl.)
I wasn't able to join the Aibakaland staff chat coz...more relatives came to visit. An uncle had an appendectomy, and EVERYONE just had to drop by.
I should be happy about them coming. But I missed something. But...yeah. I'm happy to see them again.
So. Uhm. Relatively quiet.
I turned a year older.
My dad banged on my door, woke me up with, WAKE UP! LET ME SEE YOUR EYE! Oh...Happy Birthday.
He's being sweet. *rolls eyes*
So, I discussed it with my mom. And she wasn't too happy with it, but she relented. Night of the 22nd would not be spent with them. *shrugs*
Didn't go to work. It's a perk of the job. I can take the day off. A privilege of sorts. But morning, I went and looked for something to feed all 25 people at the office. I managed to rustle up some pasta...
Wait. By 'rustle', I didn't mean I prepared it. No. (I'm made for eating more than preparing. Unless it's a matter of life and death.)
I went to our trusted resto that prepares pastas and ordered some for later that afternoon, and some of that Strawberry Delight moist cake that they love so much (but couldn't get coz the bakery's not in the City, but in MY suburbs).
I bumped into an old high school buddy, Arfil, who always visits me at work, but have not talked to for about three weeks. He saw my eye. And...Well, see, he works at Social Services, specializes in cases of Violence against Women and Children. And his words:
"You know, if you were brought to our office, no matter how you insist that you hit yourself against a wall, we WOULD NEVER believe you. We'd put you down as a victim of battery."
Somehow....I don't take comfort in that. But I am happy he also sees the humor in my situation.
At the office, they practically devoured my treat...and then it was a matter of waiting until we get off at 5 so we can proceed to Majo's crib (she's a newly-wed, newly-moved to a swanky apartment and her hubby's out of town). She pretty much took care of everything. The place, the food, the drinks...All we had to do was get our asses over there and bring our gifts.
Oh! I forgot. We also found out we get to receive some dividends and some remuneration. YAY.
Our lady boss was like, "How many of you are going?"
"Six."
"Only? You call that a party?"
....Obviously, she's never heard three of us together, let alone SIX.
At Majo's, we were noisy as we prepared dinner. Took pictures in between. Me hiding my face underneath my cap...but it was fun!! After dinner, we had this special banana cake, and they go, "IT'S JHING'S BDAY!!!! MAJO, CANDLES, QUICK!"
She brought out a candle. An ordinary one. You know, the white thick ones you use when electricity fails?? They lit it, set the camera. Ate Tonette held the candle over the banana loaf....and they all went, "when it (camera) blinks, BLOW."
One....two.....*blink* BLOW!!!
EVERYONE BLEW.
And it was captured on cam.
LOLZ. Will post pics once I get them from Ate Fredda. (Plus I need to find smiley icons to cover my face. lolz)
Then, Majo mixed some drinks (she's getting good, I must say, even if I don't know the first thing about alcohol, wines and spirits.) She called it Tequila Sunrise. Yum.
Karaoke. We were hoarse. I mean, I was hoarse. Still a bit of the cough. But really, you know Bonnie Tyler? I sounded like her. Only funnier.
Some of them drank the Tequila STRAIGHT UP, not the cocktail Majo came up with. Two shot glasses, and Ate Fredda was about ready to climb the walls.XDD
Ah. The gifts!! I got a leather bag from Ate Fredda. A leather shoulder bag. And I instantly though, HOSHIT, MOTHER-DANGER.
Sure enough, when I got home, my mom saw it, and said, "LET ME USE IT. Let me have first cut on it."
I couldn't very well refuse, can I?
But...as she was transferring her stuff from her older bag to the new bag, she was clucking her tongue in amusement.
"Hihihi. Meron na naman akong bagong bag."
(Hihihi. I have another new bag."
WHAT!!
*sigh*
I'm yet to celebrate my bday with them...probably over the weekend. *shrugs*
I'm so sorry this was long.
And I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who greeted me. The graphics, the messages, the PMs, the greetings on the comments. I tried to answer them all. But if I missed replying to any, rest assured they were all read. Thank you so so so much. :) Arashi fangirls are THE BEST.
