Japanese Manga 'Slam Dunk' adapted as Jay Chou starrer
08 Mar 2007
Considered one of the best selling mangas of all time, Slam Dunk, is now in production.
It's US$10 million budget is said to be the largest Taiwanese made film in history.
The film stars Jay Chou, Charlene Choi (one half of Hong Kong's 'Twins'), and Chen Bo-lin.
The production team is mostly made of the same crew behind Curse of the Golden Flower, with Tony Ching Siu Tung once again stepping in as action director.
The film is set to have it's premiere during next year's Chinese New Year.

So it comes out sometime February 2008.
Jay Chou and TWINS fans will probably be elated. I am more a SLAM DUNK fan, though. After what 'they' did to Initial D (you know, Japanese setting, names, sport/technique....but by Chinese actors speaking Cantonese), I am not too keen on this.
Dang.....
Ogur Shun would've made a wonderful Kaede Rukawa. He's tall, gangly, and just a damn good actor.....
