A bit of everythin'...
Dec. 6th, 2008 10:20 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I understand this might be a tad long but I decided to put it in one post. Bear with me.
A bit late, but some pimps.
Lots of MMAs coming out. Still the best Arashi variety, if I may say so. I sorely miss it.
From STORMY team sub, MMA 81, where Aiba wins at life, Sho was officially declared LOUSY, Captain got lots of birthday love from his members, and he just lambasted all the crybaby-kids they ever worked with on the show. YES. DOWNLOAD HERE but must join first.
*pats Sho-kun* The truth hurts, doesn't it? Don't worry, you're still lovely.
And a couple of MMA collabs with CK,
yuckie_chan!!! I'm still in seventh heaven that she trusted me with these. Seriously. Arigatou gozaimasu. *bows*
MMA 104. Children's Dinner. Where Nino made me want to make my own pizza toast (I'll do that this Christmas, I promise), Sho did not disappoint, and Ohno was called a liar. DOWNLOAD HERE, but must join first.
*pats Sho-kun* I know you tried your best, and anyone who puts their heart, soul (and concentration) into cooking should - in theory - win. But Nino has the more skillful hands. Sorry.
MMA 107. Another Children's Dinner ep. Where Aiba's carrots are dry, and Ohno's lettuce are pure love. *cackles* And three geniuses share tips on what to do when a girl cries in front of them. (The last answer's pure genius.) DOWNLOAD HERE, but must join first.
*pats Sho-kun* Apologizing is good and gentlemanly, but I dare you to do it Ohno's way. I dare you.
FANCY BEING A BLENDER??? I DO.
So I slept in this morning, and when I woke up, I read Silvia saying BNS released Nakai's appearance on 5LDK and I was like, "WHAAAT!!! THEY WERE WORKING ON IT TOO!?!?!?!" Then I went to the page and saw it was the one I helped out on. *giggles*
See how excited I was about that project? I did not even bother finding out what team it would be under. Like, I thought it would be some subteam focused on 5LDK. So it was a pleasant surprise. When I found out Nakai was on 5LDK, with Joushima (me and my thing for Leaders) I went straight to Sarah and begged (on my virtual knees) to be made to do anything. ANYTHING!! (well, except translate, of course.)
Couldn't take caps coz I haven't downloaded the whole thing yet. (It's HQ, ba~by!) So totally stealing Sarah's cap.
DOWNLOAD HERE. This is, quite possibly, the hardest one I ever worked on. If you think Nakai+Arashi is bad, you should check out Nakai+TOKIO, ESP when it is Nakai telling the stories, instead of the one asking the questions. OMG. They talk aaaaaaaaall over one another....But this was super-funny. And Nakai admitting he's terrified of Arashi amuses me to no end. No wonder he tortures Ohno on the show.
Oh wait. It's Ohno torturing him. Hmm.
I demand Arashi on 5LDK. Now. That'll be, like, the 7th Level of Hell, for a timer but bring it on.

FINALLY watched Twilight.
Two points:
I am glad it was waay better written than the movie.
And nowhere did the line "YOU DAZZLE ME" appear.
I say it now. Kristen Stewart wasn't well-casted. She was passable, but...I found her...boring? Or the makeup people didn't do their job well. She was too pale. Sure, she was the suffer-in-silence type, so she doesn't go around much, but yeah...she was almost as pale as the Cullens.
...Who were gorgeous. I talked a lot during the movie, making this and that remark, which is OK, since everyone was noisy. It was packed, the cinema, and when we came out, the line for the next screening was looooo~ng already.
At first glance, Peter Facinelli's Carlyle resembled Tom Cruise. Only better-looking. Than Tom Cruise. IN GENERAL. And possibly taller. Funny, I don't recall thinking Tom Cruise's Lestat was good-looking. Oh wait...maybe coz Brad Pitt was there too.
I wanted more focus on the Cullens. I guess that wasn't considered significant in movie-length but....I wanted more. Alice was perfectly translated onscreen. I loved Charlie on this one. Bill was actually fun. Jacob was....Jacob.
Going in, I wanted a vampire movie, which was wrong of me to want, since I knew this wasn't strictly a vampire movie, and the film did exactly that: focus on the love story.
Robert Pattinson, I really liked as Edward. His voice was exactly as I pictured Edward's to be (although I wouldn't say no to Edward suddenly speaking with the British accent, no sirree). There were oohs, aahs, and practically screaming everytime he appears onscreen, or gets close to Bella, or they look at each other. I am willing to bet many were hyperventilating. When they kissed, I know for sure nosebleeds happened.
Most of the audience came in pairs, so I felt for the guys when their dates swooned over Edward. Really. I pity them.
Back to the movie. There's chemistry between the two leads, but not really enough to suck me in. The romantic lines were cheesy, but - thankfully - not as cheesy as the one on the books. (I was threatening the screen. DON'T YOU DARE SAY "YOU DAZZLE ME" OR ELSE I AM WALKING OUT OF HERE.) They didn't, thank goodness.
Amazing cinematography. Many scenes are postcard-worthy. Webshots-like. Lovely, lovely place. That's one thing I appreciated about this film, that the locale of Forks was made to be a character by itself, breathing, pulsing.
And the music. Love the score. It was great hearing Chester Bennington's vocals again. Yay/ *off to hunt for the OST*
So....there'll be a sequel...and another...it'll be a franchise, of that I am sure. I just hope that, unlike the books, it won't crash and burn.
* * * * * * * *
Last Thursday, we had some sort of a seminar-cum-party. It's, like, an Updates seminar for CPAs. Anyway, in the afternoon, there were games and all that, and there's this one game called Pera o Bayong (money or bag) where they ask questions, and groups of people go line up in their answer. Four choices will be given, from A to D, and you go where you think the answer is correct.
I joined.
At first, everyone was asked. And the questions are like those asked in quiz bees. The first was to classify which of four names are actual names of moths or insects. I got that one. There were other questions, like the scientific name of eggplant, the term meaning 'instruction' in the field of arts and science, the new national dance of the Philippines, the hardest thing to understand in the world according to Robert Einstein, etc....
Then I found myself in the remaining three. Along with two middle-aged women from other agencies. And they made a rule where no two people can choose the same answer. So if one goes to one answer first, no one should join her there. Pick another answer instead.
The last question was: How long does it take for the sunlight to reach the Earth's surface?
Hell if I know.
A: 8 minutes
B: 60 seconds
C: 1 week
D: 1 month
Hell if I know.
I was thinking: 'speed of light, speed of light....that's superfast, right?' so I head to letter B.
But the older woman had faster legs (on heels. I was in sneakers. Shame on me.) and went to B. The other went to D.
I had no choice, so I picked A.
I stood there, resigned to my fate.
"The correct answer is.........."
"Letter A."
EH?
*laughs*
I won 500pesos. Not a large sum, since it was just a fun game, but it was FUN!
On my way back to my seat, I was like, "Thank you for going to letter B first, ma'am!" to the older woman. I should've gotten her name.
