...in the face of pure awesomeness...
The opening narration was sooooo teen-speak-influenced.
I worked overtime yesterday yet again (it's become a Saturday habit), but not after a sesh at the salon having three inches of my hair chopped off. Now it's down to my pits. Later in the evening my BFF and I planned to meet up (she attended the 'most boring wedding ever', according to her) to catch a movie. Neither of us cared which movie, just AS LONG AS WE WATCH ONE.
The 15s CM of Maou. *sigh* *too speechless for words*
It's FATHER'S DAY!!!!
But my Dad's kinda ill. He has high blood pressure (it runs in the family, so I won't be surprised if I get it when I'm older) and I think it's acting up yet again. I feel bad for doing this, but I kinda scolded him yesterday 'cause he just loves to eat what his doc advised him not to. They say 'everything in moderation', but in his case 'it's a definite no-no'. He just doesn't seem to get it.
You can't teach an old dog new tricks. I hope he gets better.
Everyone, hug your pops! Happy Father's Day!!!!!
other than that: WHY OH WHY CAN'T THE VS ARASHI FILES BE HQ?

So at this mall, four were showing. Caregiver (Filipino film shot in London), Prince Caspian on its 3rd week, Kung Fu Panda on its 2nd, Incredible Hulk on its 1st.
Not the biggest fan of Filipino films. Watched Caspian. Not a huge animation fan. So Hulk....?
Then at the salon I received an SMS from my colleague-cum-friend Majo encouraging me to watch Panda. I said we were debating on Hulk (bcoz Ed Norton's a genius, IMO) but she pointed out that Hulk might be extended for another week while Panda might stop at two-weeks. She has a point.
So later, after an early dinner out of the office, She' and I watched Kung Fu Panda.

Normally I look up films that I am interested in before watching them. I didn't look this up. All I knew was one: it has Jack Black on voice-over. Two: it's 3D animation. Three: It's about a panda doing...kung-fu.
Fast forward, the credits rolled. Angelina Jolie. She' and I looked at each other, surprised. Jacky Chan. We again glanced at each other, shocked. And stayed again for the second run of the film until we realized WHO Jacky voiced. Darn. He didn't speak much, but his billing was second to Jack Black.
The film was fuuuuuu~n. Thank goodness there were no pop-culture jokes. And the story's as straightforward as they come, really predictable, we've seen this kind of stories unfold before....but it's in the execution that this film made a difference. The animation was ama~zing. The details put into it, especially the martial arts fight scenes were astounding because it was flashy AND understandable at the same time. Understandable in the sense that they didn't have to rely on much camera tricks just to make it look the flashy moves that they were.
And She' was mumbling how it would've been great if they were live people doing those fight scenes, especially the one on that hanging bridge....
As the jokes rolled out, I kept thinking "I LOVE THE WRITERS!!!!!". And one thing more I have to say because I have just now confirmed it: I PREFER JACK BLACK WHEN I DON"T SEE HIM ON THE FRAME. Haha! I'm such a meanie. He did such a great job with Poe here. Really.
Those who haven't seen it yet, GO.

En-sensei winked up and translated a Toma article where he talked about Ohno.
An excerpt:
With Oh-chan (Ohno Satoshi), it’s the first time since we acted together in “West Side~.” I can’t put it into words, but he’s really got charisma. As a human, he overflows of charm, and he’s definitely not the type to say “Come on and follow me!” but everyone around him ends up thinking “I want to do something for this person. I want to follow him!” For three months from now, I’m looking forward to making this piece with Oh-chan.
And we're looking forward to watching you two in this piece. :D
There's also this latest scanlation with the two Maou stars being non-Maou at all.
